Raise Them Up In The Way They Should Go

I am learning, I am listening to Black voices. I am committing to raising my daughter to also listen and learn and amplify Black voices. There is so much work to be done and I feel it in my soul and I hope we don't lose momentum as a society. I see the changes coming and I am only afraid of them not happening soon enough.

Resources I've Found Helpful For Learning:

13th - A documentary by Ava DuVernay exposing the racial injustice in the prison system in the US. Currently free on YouTube, also streaming on Netflix.

Sonja Renee Taylor - This brilliant human challenges me everyday to consider information I hadn't seen before due to my white privilege. Follow her. Listen to her. Buy her books. She is incredible.

White Fragility - This lays it ALL out. Every white person should read this book and we should all reframe our entire thinking about our country.

There are so many more. These are a start. We have created a resources page on TheMomEdit.com for shopping Black-owned fashion businesses. Please commit to also increasing your shopping at Black-owned businesses to be at least 15% of your shopping.

Thank you so much for listening and learning along with me.
